Uganda Accuses Rwanda Of Violating Its Territory

Tensions have been tense between Uganda & Rwanda for a time have been tense & recently inflamed as on Saturday 25th May 2019, Uganda had accused Rwanda of violating its territory when pursuing a suspect.

Two Rwanda soldiers had entered Uganda territory in the Rukiga district, it is reported that the soldiers were chasing a suspected smuggler when they had crossed over the border. The chase resulted in a Rwandan & a Ugandan citizen being shot dead.

The suspect was accused of smuggling merchandise across the border, the soldiers had got 50 yards into Ugandan territory when the suspect had resisted arrest by the soldiers & as a result, he was shot, the Ugandan man had attempted to intervene in the situation & was also shot as a result of his actions.

Uganda protests in the strongest terms the violation of its territorial integrity by Rwandan soldiers and the criminal, brutal and violent act by the Rwandan soldiers, on Ugandan territory against unarmed civilians
