HMAS Adelaide set sail from Sydney to conduct these tests. It was reported that before the deployment the ship was screened for any potential COVID-19 cases. The Royal Australian navy procured 24 with the full delivery completed in 2016. The helicopters can offer a truly multi-role naval helicopter capability to the Australian Navy. The MH-60R can offer world-leading ASW capabilities along with being able to provide Search & Rescue, gunfire support, recon capabilities along with the ability to provide vertical replenishment for the fleet. The helicopter offers a wide range of armament options including, hellfire missiles, three mk50 or mk46 torpedoes along with a 7.62mm machine gun. The Australian Navy said a key part of the training was to ensure their ability to conduct humanitarian & disaster relief operations either for Australia or their neighbours.
